With the development and expansion of HD technology, film crews are able to operate with fewer people and therefore become far more “mobile” than the conventional larger crews. This has given rise to a more professional Location Scout/Manager/Production Manager/Producer all rolled into one known as a fixer. I have been operational under this banner for a few years doing various international projects. For TV crews, this seems to be an increasingly more attractive and cost effective exercise when travelling to South Africa.
Accommodation, car/truck rentals, motor homes and helicopter rental can all be arranged. Additional crew can be arranged on request

Scripts often need to be analysed and broken down into locations prior to production decisions being taken.
A script can be “unpacked” and displayed in an Excel type format showing the scripted location, as well as the recommended South African location. This enables a production team to make decisions as to the viability of a production being filmed in South Africa.  Obviously this depends on the script and whether the locations can be found in SA. Where there are gaps, these could be scouted. Another advantage here is that the library contains seasonal images (summer and winter)

I have a comprehensive location library of Southern Africa including some aerial footage of various areas.  This is really beneficial for producers investigating the feasibility of South Africa as a shooting destination for commercials, feature films, documentaries or stills shoots.
I would require a story-board, script or description of the desired locations in order to perform a Database search. We would assemble a collection of images from the Database (Library) and mail these back to you saving the need to engage location scouts for initial recces. Bear in mind that file search images have come from a library and will not always be seasonal, so once a selection is made it is always a good idea for a scout to re-visit locations and get up to date images. Fees for Database searches will be quoted on request.
